Nah Defend Slackness

Yes massive, blessings to all. The more and more I look around the more I see so many young (and even older) men and women led astray by carnal mindedness and unshackled hedonism. Most people now seem to follow the philosophy of "do what feels good and take no worries"... or at least not until it is far too late. People are not being wise in this age of slackness... what I&I basically call vulgar and lewd behavior. This is nothing new really, but it is at its zenith, especially in youth culture. I see it everyday as an educator. Actually there was something in the news just last week about some high school girls grinding and booty-dancing with an old gentleman who was their substitute teacher. One girl filmed it with her phone and put it on the internet. With all of our freedoms and achievements, our intelligence as a people, is this what we have come to? Is this how the youths are to grow and lead the next generation? The fruit is rotting on the tree before it has even ripened.

Look at the young sistrens and all the negative names that they can be labeled with, "ho", "bitch", "chicken head", "sketel", "slut" and so many more. Take a look at pop culture, so many tunes play on radio station or music video shows and both men and even the women themselves are using these names or celebrating all the lewd things they do. I must wonder why a woman of any sense would try to assume such a role and be put in the category of a "money-ho", and so forth. Or if you ever been to a dancehall or club lately, stop and check if you don't see some girl grind and wine provocatively as if she was already having sex deh pon the dance floor. It is as if they have been schooled in slackness and despicable acts, these lessons are free to the public and the sistrens perpetuate it without proper guidance. Such actions and the way these girls carry themselves inspires men to come up with these nasty unflattering names. Unfortunately they put themselves in that position. It is common sense that if you act a certain way, a label will be attached. If a woman is behaving like a one of these names, using a man, sleeping around, acting too flirty, then she will probably be given that name. What happens when these women want to begin a family or even just better themselves? These labels do not quickly fade, nor do the memories of those who witnessed their foolery.

Bredens also cannot escape criticism, for they promote and defend slackness behavior. When they have achieved what they wanted with a woman of easy virtue, they are the ones that dub them with the label. Our society is a sexist one still, and if you look you will not see too many names a man could be called, perhaps "pig" or "dog" are the most venomous... but titles like "pimp" and "player" are celebrated. Again all you have to do is turn on a radio station or music video. Then when a man gets around or acts in a certain way, it is written off as what men do, that it is the biology or genes. This is not a man thing, all men do not behave in these ways... I know because I am a man. However, many men do choose to be pigs or dogs and a great deal of women accept these wicked ways as gender roles and put up with it. This is the reason why men do not have such scathing labels associated with them. Pure double-mindedness. Society's views must change and women must stop being so naive and irresponsible, and men should act with honor and respect.

Today's pop culture and these trends in the music and other media are not innocent, look how it portrays women, especially black women and other minorities, and the men too. Not only does it perpetuate filthy lifestyles, it also perpetuates racism and sexism. People honestly do believe that it is reality, even if it means fooling themselves and taking on these roles. So many are blind, they cannot see that these things are just as toxic as second-hand smoke or all these things they bad. The youths are being poised, our men and women are being poisoned… and complacent.

As a person conscious of these things and as someone who tries to live righteously, I could never defend slackness. It has been said if you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. If I was to merely turn a blind eye to all this foolishness and just accept it, how would it benefit JAH people? I see so many people waste their lives, waste their dignity and reputation, never mind risk their health... all for vanity, and lust, and selfishness. We must bring more love into the community and search for a way to lift people out of confusion before they sink deeper down. People must change the hearts and thoughts of the youths. There must be guidance, and a way to teach both young men and women to respect themselves and each other. One of the simplest and best ways to do this is to check yourself and live right first, look and see if you could really be pleased with what you do or even just promote. If not, make a change. Then, if you see a brother or sister out there your livity can be an example, and your word, sound, power can be respected because it is rooted and grounded in Truthfulness. I&I nah defend slackness, only goodness, love and respect I-man deal with! Could never see me lead JAH people astray! Think on these things and be Queens and Kings as it was ordained by the Most High... bless up!

Too Serious For You

Too Serious For You

Never see me grind and wine with a strange concubine
Only JAH JAH on my mind in disya judgment time
Don't want a dancehall queen, all slack and obscene
I-man need an empress whose faithful and clean
If she let a man press her close and dance to the riddim
I gotta wonder what else the sistren go do with him

Out on the town, I see this boy acting like he's got paper
Ladies see his flashy things, watch out, he's a date raper
Always getting fooled, they want a man but go follow a boy
He'll just play with you a little, and drop you like an old toy
A real king don't need bling or grills ordered from a magazine
He's a fiend, diseased in the mind and flesh to the extreme

Too serious for you, meh seh too serious for them
They're trying to stop me, the heathen and the shethen
They call me names and think I strange, cause JAH is my friend
You can find me reasonin' with the saints in the lions' den
But when the trumpets sound, I'll unleash the lions dem
And the wrath of JAH will be seventy-seven times seven

I don't care who come to tell me that it's not JAH I'm servin'
Underneath their robes and turban, they're as filthy as vermin
Hiding behind a righteous cloak deceiving all the simple folk
Hotta fiyah for all the spiritual wickedness that dem provoke
So you can classify me as a rebel, like the One on Calvary
Asked me to join the Revolution, and I said I'll follow thee

Politician ads and campaigns, its all just a stain in my brain
Maintaining war and pain, greedy for a statue in the hall of fame
No wonder why the world's a mess, why the youths get distressed
Why children are having children, mothers exposing their nakedness
Babylon is enslaving the people with its dirty lies and mind control
And the beast keeps a feast devouring souls, its belly never gets full

Too serious for you, meh seh too serious for them
Nobody can stop I, no matter how many they send
I'll never stop chanting until the whole world end
And if the beast comes back, then I'll do it again
The Most High said the Truth an offense, but never a sin

Seeing is believing, revealing the deceiving with every glance of an eye
That's why I hail up JAH Rastafari
Too many hypocrites and careless out there, too many fools
Man, you must beware... cause the Gideon is near

Filthiness

Filthiness

Over there sipping on cocktails
That woman in a red dress exposing her breast
Lustfully studying the crowd for opportunity of sex
Talking loudly about the latest sensation
Must be the Babylon harlot, drinking wine of fornication

And that man telling dirty jokes with two women on his arm
Thinking he's Gods greatest gift, a handsome lucky charm
He lives a life of fantasy, deception and illusion
Profiting off silly girls laden with confusion
He's nothing more than a well-dressed fool, a devils tool

Look at them laugh with their
Painted faces covering abominations
These girls going wild like spring vacations
Low-rise jeans in high-rise apartments
Spreading their thighs and filling compartments

Can't tell the ladies from the mens
Both using facial creams and fussing over splint-ends
Dressing in the same fashion trends
Driving their BMWs and Mercedes Benz
So vain, wanting the biggest and best, nothing less

Living in expensive rooms, but really decorated white-washed tombs
Spraying their bodies with expensive perfumes
Covering the stench of their rotten flesh
Underneath their plastic skin without blemish
The walking dead, decaying filthiness

Wasting their youth on idiot things, no love for human beings
Future politicians, doctors and lawyers
Businessmen, bankers... poor-man destroyers
Instead of using their professional degree for integrity
They indulge themselves in a lifestyle so filthy

Drunkenness and juvenile behavior
Unaware of the social climate
Privileged with so-called entitlement
Stumbling over sufferer, laughing at the rebel
Mocking wisdom... "why listen to them"

Living in extravagance, in piles of a human waste
Thinking they deserve a high and mighty place
Over-achieving, socially-competing
Looking down on others without feeling
They have everything already, but they're still stealing

Rude and condescending
Down Satan steps they are descending
Thinking that they're safe through the door beneath a steeple
But its easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle
Can't buy their way to Zion... but they stay trying

No soap and lather can remove their grime
Their filthiness is that of a carnal mind
A dirty life and a polluted soul
Bowing down to worship idols
Stand firm brothers and sisters, beware of the filthiness

Youths of Today

Youths of Today

The youths of today have all gone astray
Too much Tell-Lie-Vision and video games to play
Too much violence, too much sex and drugs
Now they all want to go behave like thugs

They pay no attention, they can barely read
They all want to reap but never plant seed
Enslaved by material things, motivated by greed
They never grow up, no way to succeed

There's no appreciation for hard work and sacrifice
They don't respect their elders or listen to advice
Never care to learn they just want to be the boss
Yet they pretend to love JAH, flossing that iced cross

They jam to the radio, and they swear by 50 Cent
But him worth less than the bootleg, and the dollar they spent
They don't have no role model, not even a parent
So they roam about the streets and stay ignorant

Can never be serious, everything is taken for a joke
Then they turn around and blame the system cause they broke
Children having children, they don't practice safe sex
So much disease and worries, how can they be so careless

The media and the music get them sexually confused
They want the boy or the girl, or both, they can't choose
Vanity they chase, with painted faces and tattoos
Prostituting themselves and walking around half-nude

No future, no hope, none of them have the ambition
Want to be a ghetto superstar selling guns and ammunition
Trading their earnings for supplies of crack cocaine
Drinking fifths of liquor and indulging in champagne

It's an epidemic from the inner cities even to the suburbs
So much pollution in their heads, they're mentally disturbed
Causing teachers frustration, don't know their nouns from the verbs
Cutting school and mocking education, it's all so absurd

The youths have no concern, they don't know what life's about
Pregnant girls go have abortions and take the easy way out
Run up in the club looking for a one-night stand thrill
Wake up in the morning, clean up, and pop the pill

So who is responsible, who is the one to blame?
It's Babylon the bandit who washout all their brains
Promoting mental slavery, and tightening the chains
Rastafari free the children, only love can make a change
